Nanci Charpentier

"Blue Glasses" - oil on paper, 20 x 14 inches

The path to art has not been straight for Charpentier. Having taken art classes for four years through high school, she realized that art was her passion and love. Instead of pursuing a career in the arts she chose a bachelors degree in Criminal Justice. She then attend LSU Law Center for 2 1/2 years before completely failing out of school. Yet, she continued to pursue working in the legal field as a paralegal for 15 years. Luckily, family obligations pulled her out of the office and back home full-time where she was finally able to focus more on her family and pursue her art once more. Since 2009, Nanci has continued to pursue her art painting with an impressionistic style elevating familiar scenes from the road to dreamy landscapes and nature, evoking feelings of nostalgia. She continues to participate in nationally juried shows and local exhibitions, most recently Art Melt (2017), River Road Exhibition (2017), and her 6-week solo show at FW Gallery in Baton Rouge (Fall, 2016) all of which showcased new oil paintings on paper and debuted her woven fiber art. She is an active member of several national and local art associations and is currently represented by FW Gallery in Baton Rouge.
